About the
Treatment
Croydon Community Acupuncture is a collaborative program operated by Dr. Mitchell Burnes of The Merdian Way, Dr. Misha Amour of Amour Acupuncture and Dr. Alf Zollo of Black Hill Clinic.
Community Acupuncture is performed in a group setting whereby one practitioner treats multiple patients at once, leading to more cost-effective treatments and simple no-fuss care.

Initial Consults - have a short 5-10min intake. This is so your practitioner can gain an understanding of your health concern(s) and then you will be taken straight into the Acupuncture treatment.

Follow-up Consults - head straight into treatment after a quick on the spot discussion about your health concern.

In this style of Acupuncture there is NO need to remove items of clothing (loose clothing is preferred) as all acupuncture pins will be inserted below the elbows and knees, and yes, we can still treat back pain this way. Treatments will take 30-60mins and will involve acupuncture and possible Tuina (Chinese Massage). As treatment are performed in the group setting certain auxiliary techniques like Cupping, Guasha, Moxibustion, and Herbal Medicine can not be done.
How Much Does it Cost?
As multiple patients are being treated at the same time, the hourly cost is split between everyone to make care more affordable.

$20 covers the base cost of treatment - anything above that is put toward our Pay It Forward Scheme!
All Community Acupuncture treatment performed by The Meridian Way (Dr. Mitchell Burnes) has a Pay It Forward option. Any amount over $20 is put aside to provide discounted or free care to those who need it. As the main focus of Community Acupuncture is “everyone gets treated the same” we do not take private health cover in this setting.

Terms & Conditions
Community Acupuncture is designed to provide equal access to care for all. We guarantee there will be no sales pitch involved with your treatment, which will be the exact same as someone receiving a 1:1 private. The key differences are

Privacy - you will share the space with others

Time with the Practitioner - limited to 5-10 minutes

Depth of Consultation - we will only be able to address your main concern

Limited use of auxiliary techniques (Cupping, Gua Sha, Chinese Herbs, Moxibustion).
Pay-it-Forward
There is an option on all treatments performed by The Meridian Way to pay more than the minimum $20. However there is no pressure or need to do so. If you enjoyed your treatment or are just feeling generous, the extra money is always welcome and put toward the treatment of others.
Discounted or Free Treatment
Providing there is money in the PAY-IT-FORWARD fund, anyone can take advantage of the offer to receive discounted treatments, there will be no need to provide evidence of your financials to access this benefit but please, DO NOT abuse the generosity of others.
Free Days
On occasion, The Meridian Way is able to provide a FREE acupuncture day. This is paid for through the PAY-IT-FORWARD system if there is enough money accumulated. Such days are open to all. However, this may be ticketed, or work on a first-come, first-served basis. These days will be advertised as they happen, at any time during the year.
